The Philosophy of Water

-Concerning Vectors and Forces

For some time now, it seems that my thinking has been moving in the direction of: "The Philosophy of Water".....

i.e. events do not happen because of some rational plan (human or otherwise) -but happen for the same reason that causes water to flow downhill to find its own level.....

In other words, within a force field (which can have several opposing forces operating at any given point) an object will move to the next point depending on the direction offering the least resistance to the movement.....

This is a model (of time/space) that can work with both highly (semantically) calculated forces, based on logic, morality, or whatever) but it can also work on a very simple level by merely measuring the various forces (in some unspecified way) and taking the path of least resistance....

Personally, I don't believe that people make rational decisions regarding their actions.....

...but they actually behave like individual Time/Space machines....  Which implies basically the idea of a point moving through space -and modifying the space as it occupies a new point.

This can perhaps best be understood by the idea of rain falling on a mountain: The water always runs downhill, taking the path of least resistance.... but as the water flows downhill, it creates channels which make it more difficult for the water coming later to flow in other directions.....

The slope on the mountain where each water drop lands, also determines in which direction that drop will flow ..... based on the bumps and hollows at that point.....

...and, of course different fluids flow faster or slower than others.....

In human decision making, calculating the line of least resistance is not easy -because there are many factors -and they may be different for different people or objects.....

One person, for example, might weigh moral or religious factors very highly -while for another person maybe economic, emotional or sensory factors are the most important.....

....but the water must (eventually) flow along the line of least resistance -and any barriers placed it its path will be destroyed when the pressure gets high enough.....

One can channel the water but not stop it from flowing.....

Sometimes one must give some  things up -in order to flow in another direction..... but ultimately, the most powerful force will always win.....

It is foolish to stand in the way of a charging horse.... Or a broken dam....
